Onion rings in beer
Ingredients:
2-3 large onions (choose sweet varieties);
2 eggs;
250 g flour;
1 teaspoon baking powder;
70 g starch;
200 ml light beer (must be chilled);
salt, black, red pepper to taste.oil.
Cut the onions using the Rouelle method with a step of 1 cm. Divide the onion rings into individual rings and remove the film. To prevent bitterness, the rings can be soaked in milk and put in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the claret. Mix the egg yolks with flour, baking powder, starch and beer. Add salt, pepper.
Beat the egg whites separately. Mix both mixtures until smooth (the consistency is like thick paint).
Before turning the onions into a golden snack, remove the rings from the milk and dry them on a paper towel.
Heat the oil in a wok or saucepan to 180 °C. Fry until golden. Place the finished rings on paper towels to get rid of excess fat. And CRISPY!
